I have invite codes to give out!

I have one invite code for An Archive Of Our Own.
Already gone!

I also have several Dreamwidth invite codes, which I fear you folk will ignore, as you have ignored them before. However, as my flist has changed a little since then, I am asking again.

If you want an invite, comment here with an email address (I can't use the invite code without one). First come, first served.

Looky! I have a custom mood theme! (on Dreamwidth only) I put it on too.katspace.org (see, that's a good use for the site), and while it was glitching yesterday, I put in a support request today, and it seems to have come good, at least for me from my home computer. If any of you have trouble seeing my mood theme, let me know.

Also, two of the people I've invited to Dreamwidth haven't accepted their invites yet.

And I'm glad it's the weekend. I have far too much to do. (sigh) Finish-a-thon dragging as ever. I have a [info]tardis_bigbang story to read and illustrate. And chores to do.

Oh, and stories to read and review for the [info]smith_awards. Go thou and do likewise!

I still have five three one Dreamwidth invite available!

Comments are screened; leave an email address and I can send you an invite.

This is not an incitement to abandon LiveJournal; most people seem to be using Dreamwidth as a mirror, or emergency back-up, or both. Okay?

squee!
Eeeee! I got a seed account! When I clicked on the shop page, it said "less than 200 seed accounts available". I was order #429. When I'd finished contending with PayPal, the shop page said "less than 50 seed accounts available". But I got one, whee! I was afraid I wouldn't because I expected them to go very fast. Though if I had missed it, I could have had another try for the second batch, selling 12 hours later. Fortunately the time-zone difference smiled on me for once, since I didn't have to get up at 2am or whatever in order to make it to the opening.

Jenny, all-things-new
(I meant to post this last night or this morning, but I didn't manage to)

There have been a few people on my flist wondering what all the fuss is about Dreamwidth; isn't it just another GreatestJournal or InsaneJournal? Another LJ clone run by someone in their spare time, something that won't last? Something always lagging behind LJ in features?

Well, no.

Let me tell you why...

I have a Dreamwidth account, and I am intending to cross-post to both LJ and Dreamwidth, definitely in the short term, and probably the long term unless my entire flist migrates to Dreamwidth or LJ goes down, whichever comes first. Since my LJ account is a permanent account, it's not like I have to do anything more to keep it running.

I have a Dreamwidth account!!!
Please to be telling me if you are on Dreamwidth too, and who you are there.

So I have now joined the ranks of those who do massive cross-posting on multiple personal journals (LJ, IJ, Inksome, and now Dreamwidth). I was using Charm at first, but while it sort of supports cross-posting, it isn't really oriented towards that. So I have just finished writing (and quick-testing) a script (perl script, which uses the LJ::Simple interface) which cross-posts to multiple journals at the same time. Yay! It's a very simple command-line interface, nothing fancy, but I think the benefits outweigh the disadvantages.

I'm thinking of deleting the inksome journal, though. Dreamwidth will be better, and IJ was able to import all my past entries, while Inksome couldn't. I have imported all my past entries to Dreamwidth too.

Bring on the open beta!
