As requested, here's my three clumps of patchwork so far:

They're draped over a chair.

It may look like a lot, but the jacket design requires 3.55m of cloth...

I sewed some more pieces together, and joined two clumps into a larger one. Right now I have three clumps; two large ones and one smaller one. I've decided to stop now because my back aches and I'm finding it hard to decide which bits to go with which other bits (yes, there is some sort of method to my madness, I'm trying to... avoid imbalance).

Hello? Is anybody out there? Should I f-lock this? Am I boring you?

I didn't do any patchwork yesterday. But tonight I sewed about eight pieces together. I also bought some lining at lunchtime. Tired and achy, me.

Sewed on three more pieces but I'm not sure how to join the next bits. I also looked again at the pattern, and I'm insane, it's so big, it will take forever to sew enough for it. Arrgh!

I thought this was going to be a lack-of-progress post, because I've been feeling pretty rotten, but I decided I would go ahead and sew on two more pieces whether I felt like it or not, and I did, so I'm a bit proud of myself. I'm not sure if I'll ever balance the colours properly, but all the bits of cloth are nice, so I tell myself it's not going to be horrible even if I mess it up.

I am so tired and my back aches, but I guess that's because I did a lot, though it doesn't feel like it.

Romana-sigh, sigh
The only thing in my list-of patchwork things to do that I managed to do was wash the mildewed remnant (and dry it). Didn't cut out any patterns. Instead I was doing domestic stuff, and also sorting out audio books (and audio plays) to put onto my MP3 player to listen to while I did patchwork stuff. And went over to brother #2 to try to sort out his computer (and spent hours, and failed) (sigh)

I had intended to cut out the pattern tonight, but what I ended up doing instead was
(a) moving the ironing board and iron into the study/sewing room
(b) finding three boxes, and going through my cloth scraps and remnants for green, blue and purple, and putting them in the three boxes. Plus a bag for variegated blue/green/purple bits.

During this, I found a remnant that looked as if it had mildew on it (ugh) so I put that aside to be washed tomorrow. Fortunately, the cloth it was next to seemed fine, so I'm a bit puzzled how it got like that.

Surprising how much effort and energy all that took. Zzzz.
