Fic - Scarier than the Crow

This is the second ficlet request, and I was able to do it all on the bus on the way to work, amazingly enough. This actually wan't the one of Mistral's requests that I thought I'd do first, but looking over them on the bus, I thought it might be the shape of a drabble, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Characters: the Fifth Doctor, Mrs. King
Line: "Was this thing important?"
Requested by: [info]mistraltoes
Words: 100 (not including title)

Scarier than the Crow

It wasn't that different from what she did with Lee, really. Get chased by bad guys, kidnapped, threatened, and escape, with the fate of the world in your hands.

"Was this thing important?" She held up a knobbly bit of metal.

"Amanda!" the Doctor said, snatching the thingie out of her hands. "Where did you get that?"

"In the Master's TARDIS. Under the cushions of the couch; where we were tied up."

"What on earth prompted you to look there?"

"Lost things always end up in the couch. We even found Jamie's dental plate there once."

"Amanda!"

Just like Lee.

I can't believe you did that in a drabble! And Mrs. King is perfect. ::applauds:: Thank you! :)

Well I sort of bypassed all the actual chasing, kidnapping and tying up -- not to mention not explaining what the "thingie" was...

And Mrs. King is perfect. ::applauds:: Thank you! :)
Whee! Well, you did provide the initial inspiration. But I admit I redid the "lost things always end up in the couch" line several times, just trying to get the right King-esque blend of domesticity and oddness.
