Oh, hooray! I get a story before I have to leave! Thank you!

You know, it says something about my output that I couldn't even remember writing a story with that title. :) Nifty choice, though. And I like the subtle crossover elements. The Star Trek reference made me smile, and somehow it makes perfect sense. I'll admit that I didn't twig to the Buffy component until I read the note at the end (and felt stupid for missing it, too), but once I did it really made the whole thing fall together very nicely. (It works if you don't get the reference, I think, but it works better if you do. And that was cool.)

Anyway, thanks again! Hope it wasn't too difficult an exercise for you. :)

Thank you! Glad you liked it.

It says something about your output that choosing which story to remix was one of the harder parts about it. 8-)
I was originally intending to remix the one about Avon and the Archbishop (it was a lightening fic, I'm sure you don't remember it), but when I looked at this one, I thought, hey, that would be a good one to remix! In one sense, it was fairly straightforward: just make each of the options into a "what if?" scene. I didn't think of the wishing and the Trekness until after I'd started writing it.

Yeah, I always feel sorry for people assigned to remix me; it's got to be all too easy to get completely bogged down in the gazillion drabbles I've somehow managed to produce. It has occurred to me that if I really wanted to be a good human being, I ought to index everything in some more useful and informative way than the LJ memories list, but frankly that's a project that daunts me.

Now that you mention it, I have some vague, vague memory of writing a two-minute fic or some such thing based around the word "archbishop," but I can't remember what I did with it. :)

Well, at least most of them are split out by fandom...

Yeah, and there are only a tiny handful under "misc." Still...

Nice one.

I liked the story. First I had to go and read Astro's, which I didn't remember, and then I could appreciate what you had done to it.

My spelling is awful, but is that how you spell "bureaucracy"?

Thanks!

No, you're correct. Thanks for pointing that out.

It's Firefox spellchecker that knows how to spell lumpy words, not me. And I'd hoped you were the type of person who would rather be told than not.

I tend not to use spellcheckers, because for every mistake they find, there are five legitimate words they think are mistakes, which gets irritating.
